Solar in 2017

Continued Growth In the Northeast, and Worldwide.

Solar Energy installations and total power capacity continued to grow in 2017, and is forecasted to nearly double again in the next few years. Locally, we had one of our very best years in 2017, with over 7 megawatts of solar installed for home and business owners. Here’s how it breaks down:

Equipment Installed:

8,500,000 Watts of solar installed (Eight point Five Million Watts!)

29,800 individual solar panels

208,000 feet of Mounting Rails

All this solar will produce:

11,100,000 kWh (Kilowatt hours) each year.

That’s over 276,000,000 kWh over the next 25 years.

$1.6 Million in electricity savings this year.

Over the course of 25 years, with a low price escalation of just 3%, our 2017 installations will have saved our customers over $58 MILLION in electricity costs.

In just one year, this will offset C02 emissions from:

20 Million miles driven by cars.

6 Million Pounds of waste recycled

That’s enough to fill over 400 garbage trucks!

1 Million Gallons of Gasoline

That’s over 100 Tanker Trucks!

9 Million Pounds of Coal Burned

Which is enough to fill 45 Railroad cars

This is the green equivalent to:

2.1 million tree seedlings Planted

10,000 Acres of Forestland preserved

We love working in the solar industry and are grateful for all our customers and fellow renewable energy enthusiasts. Its always nice to take a step back and look at the big picture- and the impact that just one company and their customers can have on the environment.   The future has never looked brighter!
