Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my solar system is working?

There is a light with the word power next to it. If the light is solid green your system is working.

How do I access my monitoring portal?

We will send you a link to your preferred email that brings you to your monitoring portal. Once in the portal you will create a password. You will then be redirected to the login page. You will use your email as your username and the password you just created to login. Check out the videos below for a guide to your portal once you login.

Why does my utility bill show different production numbers?

Most utility companies only measure the difference between what your home consumes and what your system produces. To understand total consumption, you would need to add your system kWh production for the month and add it to your billed kWh consumption for that month.

How do cloudy days & snowfall affect my solar production?

Direct sunlight provides the best solar output but even when it’s overcast, cloudy, or rainy solar panels with still capture and diffuse indirect sunlight. When it comes to snow, it will eventually slide off of your panels on its own. The heat radiated from the dark panels aides in melting the snow and the angle of the panels helps the snow to slide off.

What happens when the power goes out?

If you solar system is connected to the grid and the power goes out your system will shut off as well. This is to protect line workers from being injured when your system is feeding power back into the grid. However, there are battery backup options if you would like to keep your power on when everyone else’s goes out.
